This pair have been refurbished in a grey, soft to the touch linen. The black arms have been re-ebonised. Both the seats and backs are still pocket sprung, according to their original design. A stylish and comfortable pair of chairs, by this distinguished British designer of the Art Deco era.
Betty Joel (pictured) designed furniture, textiles and interiors, and had shops in Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. The Studio Magazine featured her work between 1927 and 1937.
