A walnut, rectangular side table / lamp table by Betty Joel, and the designers label to the underside, signed by Betty Joel and dated July 1935.
Betty Joel (pictured) designed furniture, textiles and interiors, and had shops in Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. The Studio Magazine featured her work between 1927 and 1937. Today the quality and design of her pieces are highly regarded.
