Art Deco metamorphic desk. When the two leaves on the top are open, the letter rack and ink wells raise up and a green writing surface is revealed. The central section also raises up to reveal a concealed compartment. The two original ink wells in milk glass, with their bakelite red and black tops. Five drawers below, the central drawer with its original lock and key and the other four drawers operated by a separate key. Attractive red phenolic handles with brass floral detailing. The markers metal label found to the central drawer, marked ‘Maco United Kingdom PAT. No 413216’. Raised on four elegant slender cabriolet legs.
