This Amethyst purple vase, cased with an acid etched stylised design, is faintly marked with a round acid mark that contains the Cross of Lorraine with the words ‘CRISTAL NANCY FRANCE’.
Cristalleries de Nancy, France was established in 1922. They exported vast quantities to America and as result were greatly affected by the Great Depression and closed in 1934.
During the short time they produced glass they attracted top designers including August Houillon from Daum and exhibited in the Paris Exposition in 1925.
Many of the pieces were limited to an edition of 100 pieces. They produced perfume bottles and toiletry glass ware.
In very good vintage condition, without chips or cracks.
