A bronze mounted on marble, by the Romanian artist Zoldan Kovats (1883-1952). He was particularly known for his refined Art Deco sculptures of young women. This example, depicting a decorated silvered and gold effect finished bronze of a poised young woman taming birds on a rope held between her hands and surrounded charmingly by further birds. The lady marked ‘Bronze Veritable’ and the stepped portoro marble base marked, ‘Editions Reveyrolis Paris’.
