An Art Deco bookcase with three shelves to the front and a further three shelves to the side with a floral decorative square floral frieze to the front left hand panel. Made by Herbert E Gibbs, with the makers metal label to the back. Herbert Gibbs trained as a cabinet maker at technical college and founded Herbert E Gibbs, a furniture manufacturing company during the 1920s, based at De Beauvoir Road, London. The firm produced furniture for domestic and commercial use and sold direct to both the public and trade and through retailers throughout the country including Heals.
