A quality Art Deco bedside table in walnut, with decorative inlaid banding in exotic woods. The single door, with an attractive phenolic black and white handle, opens to reveal two shelves. The makers label, ‘Gaylayde’, to the inside of door and raised on macassar ebony feet.
Gaylayde’ furniture by B.Cohen & Sons was first exhibited in 1926 at the London Furniture Exhibition and their bedroom, dining and living room furniture was sold in upmarket department stores in England.
