A rare opportunity to purchase a bespoke Art Deco Wardrobe by Bath ArtCraft Ltd, associated with the Bath Cabinet Makers Company.
Commissioned by the daughter of a Colonel in 1929 to 1930, and until now has remained in the same family. The wardrobe, part of a bedroom suite made to the daughters stringent instructions, as shown in the various letters between her father and Bath ArtCraft. The letters will be included in this purchase, along with its original drawing.
The main section of the wardrobe has a top shelf and a hanging rail beneath, with further hooks fitted to the internal back. The right hand section with seven shelves and a further four storage shelves on the internal door. The shelves on the door, fitted with glass insert panels.
This original, high quality wardrobe is made of figured ash and chrome. It comes in overall very good condition having been professionally polished and restored. It does though have indentations to the right hand side panel, which are shown in one of the photos, which unfortunately cannot be removed. It remains however a unique and top of the range piece of furniture from the Art Deco period and would work in both the period and modern interior.
