A great quality 1930’s solid walnut bookcase/display cabinet. Three shelves behind a glazed door and a cupboard below. Marquetry detailing to the top, the glazed framework and the cupboard doors. The doors each with a marquetry panel, depicting flowers and a butterfly in ebony, mother of Pearl and exotic woods. Made by the ‘Gaylade’ company. ‘Gaylayde’ furniture by B.Cohen & Sons was first exhibited in 1926 at the London Furniture Exhibition and their high quality bedroom, dining and living room furniture was sold in upmarket department stores in the UK.
