An Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann pendant light.

This Art Deco pendant light, was designed by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, solely for the ‘Great Hall’ in the ‘Galerie Le Bon Marché’, Paris, in 1924.

The light retains is original chrome finish, with some light wear commensurate with age. Unfortunately it has a crack in the holophane shade, shown in the numbered pictures 1 and 2. The numbered picture 3 shows that the crack is almost hidden when aligned with one of the chrome fixings. Picture numbered 4, shows a replacement Perspex shade to the original. All things considered it remains an impressive light, by one of the leading French Art Deco designers of the period.
Another example of this light (appearing in better condition) is currently on the market by another dealer for £2400.

This light has been rewired and PAT tested.

Height: 70cm
Diameter of shade: 41cm
